【PURPOSE】

JCCEA is a non-government organization (NGO) authorized by the Royal Government of Cambodia. From 16 years ago its chairman, Masashi Kamo, has been going to Cambodia and doing various activities in order to contribute to improvement in living standards and cultural advancements.

At the time when the terrible domestic conflict came to end, the economy in Cambodia weakened and it was politically unstable, and the people were struggling to live their lives and were unable to have dreams or hope.

The peace and order were not kept, and it was a very dangerous circumstance for supplying aids, however, then Kamo thought, “Because the country is unstable after the internal warfare, support activity is necessary.” and continued to travel to Cambodia by himself.

While establishing support aid and becoming close with government officials and local government heads, he strongly felt the need for an NGO. So in 2007 he established JCCEA with an authorization from the Royal Government of Cambodia, and our office is located in Phnom Penh.

Presently Cambodia is known to be one of the poorest nations but holds an environment to be a nation of agriculture due to rich soil that both the Mekong River and Tonle Sap Lake carry and to its flat land. This nation has a very high potential to be the world’s food supplier that can fulfill the world’s stomach.

At JCCEA, we believe that bringing the standards for academics and cultural awareness higher will help the people become independent and develop the nation.

JCCEA has frequently visited elementary and middle schools and has taught children and pupils the importance of studying.

For each child who could not afford a pencil, our organization gave pencils, notebooks, T-shirts and etc, and promoted friendships.

Based on the concept of “To help the people become independent and to support their fulfilling lives will help this nation grow,” the vocational training center is under construction in Sihanoukville Province.

This is for the future of the children who will eventually lead Cambodia, and we believe, in the future, it is our role is to construct vocational training centers in each Province.

The Royal Government of Cambodia established the policy to “export 1 million tons of rice by 2015,” however, it is very hard to accomplish the policy beyond expectations because of delay in modernization of agriculture. So, in order for JCCEA to help the nation accomplish the policy, we are attempting to introduce agricultural technology from Japan and prepare an environment where the people can acquire such skills. We will also operate large-scale farms in Battambang and Kampong Thom Provinces and create jobs for couple thousand individuals.
